Camille is currently performing in the Stephen Jeffrey’s adaptation of Dickens’ novel Hard Times at COHO Theater.

Hard Times runs through June 2nd.  Thurs-Sat at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm.

Mr. Darcy Dreamboat Update!

We have dates! Mr. Darcy Dreamboat will have its world premiere at the IFCC November 11 – November 20, 2011.  Camille is hard at work in the rehearsal room, devising and writing and continuing to develop the piece with her fantastic collaborators.

Stay tuned – we will be launching our kickstarter campaign late summer/early fall.  There will be some exciting events, prizes (we hope!), and all around good cheer to get this project ready for it’s Portland debut.

“So it appears that there’s an audience for the new works the festival features. What’s striking is how many folks there are in town creating such work. Even for someone who’s covered the theater scene for nearly five years, the festival is a continual opportunity to discover new writers, actors and fledgling companies.

Camille Cettina is one such discovery for me. A former regular with Theatre Vertigo, Cettina left town a few years and studied the physical-theater precepts of Jacques Lecoq. Recently returned, she presented the opening section of a solo show called “Mr. Darcy Dreamboat,” which brought her childhood love of reading to vibrant life as she re-enacted Nancy Drew sleuthing adventures and the rush of her first encounter with the dashing Darcy from Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice.””

Summer of 2010, Camille performed in Henry V with Island Stage Left on the beautiful San Juan Islands just north of Seattle, Washington.  A more than welcome return to Shakespeare, with a fantastic cast and in a most stunning setting!

Prior to the lovely jaunt to the San Juans, Camille was performing in New York in the world premiere of  A Wonderfully Flat Thing, a one-act play based on the short story, A Fable, by Mark Twain, adapted for the stage by Manju Shandler and Basmat Hazan Arnoff, with choreography by Jesse Zaritt and an original score, performed by actor/dancer/puppeteers.

This is a really lovely piece of theatre and also my first chance to work with a big puppet (and a 12-foot long snake, at that), which is very exciting!
